Class Description:
In this comprehensive course, students will learn pastel techniques such as layering, blending, hatching, stippling, creating transition tones, controlling and separating values, and recreating textured surfaces. The history of pastel and its properties, terminology, handling, protection, framing and spray fixing will also be covered. Using soft pastels, Nupastels and CarbOthello pencils, students will create landscapes, still lifes or portraits. Student furnishes own supplies. Drawing Fundamentals recommended.
