BFA, Lyme Academy of Fine Arts 

Adam Matano is a professional artist and educator specializing in figurative sculpture.

Adam studied at the Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Connecticut. He received a BFA in Sculpture with honors and was awarded the excellence in sculpture award along with the student leadership award. During school he competed in multiple figure sculpture competitions held at: the New York Academy of Art, Pennsylvania Academy of Art (placing first), and the New York Academy (placing third).

Although Adam’s main training was in the human figure, he has always had a special love for animals and he applies his knowledge of the human figure to sculpting them. He can be found once a week at the LA Zoo making sculptures from life.

Currently Adam works and lives in Los Angeles, exhibiting his sculpture and teaching.
