Support BAC Programs

Veterans Art Program

At the Brentwood Art Center we believe in the transformative power of art. As part of our commitment to serving our community, last year three faculty members provided 225 hours of art instruction free of charge at the Westwood and Long Beach Veterans Administrations. Our Veterans exhibited their work in a culminating exhibition at the Geffen Playhouse and at our annual Student and Faculty exhibition.

Each semester the Friends of the Brentwood Art Center awards need-based scholarships and provides financial support to low-income adults and children by reducing or eliminating class fees. In 2017-2018 BAC awarded more than $58,000 in scholarships to 43 adults and 29 children in need.

Education Programs

The Brentwood Art Center offers free hands-on community art programs to increase cultural empathy, awareness, and understanding. Through a partnership with 18th Street Art Center, the Brentwood Art Center invites artists from around the world as well as locally to engage our students in social impact education programs.

Julian Choji New Memorial Scholarship Program

This annual scholarship award is presented to talented teens who exemplify the artist vision shared by the Brentwood Art Center and the New/Kaplan family.

Leadership Council

The Brentwood Art Center Leadership Council is both a social group and a donor affiliate council. It is made up of donors who contribute $1,000+ a year to support our scholarship, education, community and veterans art programs. Members enjoy unique opportunities to attend exclusive art events, artist studio visits, and private collection tours.
